As a volunteer doula, I attend births sporadically. Recently, to refresh my memory regarding comfort measures as a mom’s due date was drawing near, I flipped through the deck. This mom chose to labor at home for quite a while, and I was able to give her guidance and suggestions by using the cards. Once at the hospital, I again pulled ideas from the cards as labor was at night, long, and my brain was getting tired. Having easy access to this handy tool with descriptions and pictures made me more confident in my role.
